Losing Jobs, Gaining Perspective

May 1, 2009 by pharma · Leave a Comment

sunriseFor many of us, the decision to move on from the pharmaceutical industry is one that we welcome with open arms.  For others, the choice is being made for us, and we are not exactly thrilled about the possibility of “getting back out there”.

In either scenario, most of us are going to be doing some soul searching on where we want to take our careers and our lives in this next phase, it never hurts to get a little perspective before we start.

Here are a couple of posts from Penelope Trunk of the Brazen Careerist that may sum up what many of us are thinking right now as we prepare for the next chapter:

1)    Bad situations breed creativity
2)    How to figure out what you should be doing with your life
3)    Test Yourself to Find Out What Truly Makes You Happy?

This may give you a good foundation for focusing your efforts on which direction you want to take your career.  We’ll also be focusing on career resources, expert interviews, and professional development in this section, but thought we’d share a few pieces of writing that really spoke to us as we began our search.
